Dryopteris kinkiensis 'Green Hans' is one of our favorite evergreen ferns in the garden. The large, dark green, glossy fronds stay fresh all summer and are a great compliment to broad-leafed shade perennials and groundcovers. Here we have it planted with Speirantha convallarioides (evergreen false lily of the valley), Asarum nobilissimum 'Crown Royal', and the US native (Vermont to Louisiana) Collinsonia canadensis 'Cumberland'.
